I'm not a pc whiz...but I think maybe if you click "start" and then click "control panel", then there is something there about placing password on your pc.

Go to start button, go to the top when it displays your user name and picture. open that go to user name and click on that and you can change your name and put in a password there.

If you are using Windows, it is pretty simple. Click "start" and then go to "control panel". Once you are in the control panel console click on the "user accounts icon". From "user accounts" you can then manage who uses the computer - and what the password is. A password upon start up can also be entered by going into DOSS - and adding a password - but you would be out of luck if you forgot the password - so I do not recommend it.
