Selling Used Cars Online. [aboutcomputer99.blogspot.com]

Question by tommy szzzzzzzzzz: Why don't GOODWILLS and SALVATION ARMY and some THRIFT SHOPS sell USED COMPUTERS anymore? A lot of them DID, but now a lot of thrift shops DONT for some reason. I DID purchase them sometimes when my own crashed or needed something, and often they would be out of date, but if you bought the right ones you could use at least dial up service if they ran Windows 98 or better. Anyone know WHY they dont handle them anymore? I still see the occasional old monitors and accesories like outdated programs and games and mouses, but never the computers anymore. Thanks. Best answer for Why don't GOODWILLS and SALVATION ARMY and some THRIFT SHOPS sell USED COMPUTERS anymore?:

I assume that they are just snatched up really quickly. After all, those who shop there might not be the most financially well off, and thus I'm sure even ancient computers that are capable of the internet would sell like hot cakes. I know the local thrift shops still accept computer donations and encourage it, but they sell quickly. All electronics are like that actually. You rarely see CRT t.v's or VHS players either, or CD players, cassette players, game boys, etc. They all sell very quickly, but that doesn't mean that they aren't provided. Talking to the staff would give you a better idea of how often they get things like that in and how fast they sell. That would be your best option in my opinion.

because most people dont buy them. and the company has to pay to have them disposed. and all those computer parts are full of chemicals and they have to pay for them to be properly discarded which puts the companies profits in the RED. Thats why they dont accept CRT monitors anymore because they dont sell and the gas inside has to be properly disposed of.

Most Salvation Army stores and Thrift shops no longer accept TVs or Computers because there is, in most towns, a $ 25 fee per unit to dispose of them if they do not work, and do not s ell.

I am looking to sell this in bulk. I will sell things just one at a time...but for a bulk buyer I will give really good prices. If you need cables or hard drives or monitors or computers or laptops or anything PC related I likely have it.

One of the most fearful places to visit according to a recent study is a car show room. Pushy salesmen desperate to make a sale, and high pressure selling techniques is one of the biggest put-offs for the average car buyer. However, many used car dealers are wising up to this, and realise that to make sales and create customer satisfaction, they need to get rid of this out dated image.

At Budgen Motors we have done exactly this. Our sales executives are forward thinking, professional and above all care about the experience all our customer receive. Regardless of buying a new or used car, we always take the time to listen to your needs.

So you are probably reading this and think it is just another slightly corny, well staged sales pitch! Well you may be right - although image and perception is hard to change, we are certainly trying hard to alter the process of buying a new or used car....so much so, that you may no longer have to visit our car showroom to view a car!

So how do we do this? Budgen Motors are one of only a handful of car dealers in the UK who offer a live web based video demonstration of any used car we have in stock. Each sales executive has full training to use a camera linked directly to our website. All you need to do is find the used car you are interested in and request a C IT NOW demo - easy!

You can sit back while the sales executive takes you on a virtual tour around the car with the camera, panning in on fine detail - you simply view this via your computer whilst on our website. You can either ask to look at specific parts of the car, or just let the sales executive show you around. If you so wish, the sales executive can also email a link to the saved video presentation for you to view in your own time. This is great if you want to show the used car to your husband, wife, girlfriend etc....

So, even if you cannot stand the sight of a used car showroom or even worse, go and visit one, you have no excuse now...a C IT NOW is the ideal answer if you are looking to buy a used car. This service is also great if you have found your dream used car and you live a long way away...The service costs no more than a short phone call to say you would like a C IT NOW Demo. Before the video presentation starts we will ring you back (usually within 5 minutes, after the camera has been set-up)
