Computer rebooting is a common issue reported by Windows users. This problem occurs when there is problem with operating system or hardware of the machine you are using. There can be many causes behind this problem. Most common causes behind a computer that reboots over and over again are:

1. Virus infection. 2. Improper RAM or any other faulty hardware. 3. Corrupted system registry. 4. Bad sectors on hard drive.

Here are outlined few steps to help you fix the problem if your computer is rebooting over and over:

> A hidden virus may be root cause behind such a problem. This happens especially on those computers where installed antivirus programs are weak. There are different types of viruses, some of them add links in the startup and whenever you use your computer, they do not allow you to take any action on the computer.

If this is your problem then try rebooting your computer in safe mode (pressing F8 when computer starts) and d ownload a reliable antivirus on your computer. Uninstall previous version of security program through control panel and install the one you recently downloaded.

Scan your system for possible virus infection and fix it. Restart Windows in normal mode.

To fix this problem, shut down your computer and open the CPU box. Place RAM in proper slot and restart your computer.

Try holding in the power button for a 5-10 seconds if that doesn't work unplug it and if it's a laptop take out the battery.

I seriously think you mean "reformat". Rebooting is simply turning the power off and back on again or hitting the restart button. If you mean reformat, you WILL need a disk. Sorry.

I assume you mean reload your computer? :) Rebooting your computer means you would like to restart it. If you don't have the disk, you cannot rebuild from scratch. Is it a name brand computer? Name brand computers normally come with recovery software CD's. You pretty much put the recovery cd(s) in the dvd drive, reboot(restart) your computer and the recovery process presents you with a menu to reload back to how you bought it. Keep in mind this usually erases everything so back up anything you's like to keep. Many things cause computers to run slowly, a quick thing you can try is disabling things that are starting with windows that are not necessary. You can view them all easily using the SYstem Configuration Utility. To open it, goto start, then run and type msconfig and click ok. Under the Startup tab you can uncheck programs you don't need. You can always rerun the msconfig to re-enable things you disabled later. Hope that helps. John http://digitalpix.ca
