To find and analyze new computer viruses, some computer security software firms have hundreds of analysts in their virus labs. At AVAST Software, we do it differently. avast! antivirus software users like yourself, if you don't opt out of our CommunityIQ virus detection system, automatically submit virus samples (potential ones, that is) from anything suspicious you encounter. When your avast! antivirus program's virus scanners notice anything that resembles computer virus symptoms, it sends a sample to us -- automatically and anonymously -- for a computer virus check. Every day we receive about 50000 anonymous samples that our systems then virus-test. After the virus analysis, whatever gets confirmed as a new virus goes into a computer virus information update that is sent automatically to all avast! users. Even users of avast! Free Antivirus software receive the same antivirus updates, and thus the same level of computer virus protection. And because we have hundreds of millions of users who depend on avast! antivirus protection for their internet safety... we don't quite need hundreds of analysts to provide you with the best system for computer virus detection and virus removal -- for the best overall computer protection. avast! ... be free (from latest computer viruses)

Guillermo del Torro Gomez, more popularly known in the industry as Guillermo del Torro, is a Mexican director, screen writer and producer. The widely acclaimed director started out in the film industry at a very young age, working and studying special effects and make-up with SFX artist, Dick Smith. Del Torro started his directing debut in 1986 with the film Dona Herlinda and Her Son but did not garner that much attention in the industry.

Most of del Torro's works revolved around comic adaptations, fantasy and horror films. One of his most acclaimed films so far is the Mexican fantasy film, Pan's Labyrinth. The story takes place in post Spanish Civil war Spain, in 1944 in a mysterious labyrinth with strange magical creatures. The story actually originated right out from del Torro's notebooks which were filled with drawings and doodles he made for the past 20 years.

One of the most notable parts of the film was the use of impressive visual effects, animatron ics and make-up. The movie made use of CGI or computer generated imagery, creating real life creatures with impressive detail. But a majority of the effects were brought to life with make-up and animatronics - both of which were equally painstaking to create. Actors would sit in the make-up chair for hours as latex foam were added layer upon layer to different parts of their body.

Pan's Labyrinth was first released in May 2006, during the Cannes Film Festival. The movie was done completely in Spanish. In August of the same year, it was shown in the London Fright Film Festival, this time with English subtitles. This was the fist ever showing of the film in an English speaking country. After which, the movie was then distributed to various countries, finally reaching the United States in December 2006.

After the release of the film, it generated huge acclaim both among viewers and film critiques. The movie received a 98% rating in both Metacritic and the Cream of t he Crop critics. The former is an online review site for movies, albums and games over the world. On its first release in the Cannes Film Festival in 2006, the movie was honored with 22 minutes of standing ovation right after the show. It received the same acclaim during the Toronto International film Festival in the United States in the same year.

Pan's Labyrinth garnered numerous awards from top film award-giving bodies from the Oscars, GOYA Awards, BAFTA and many others. The first three weeks of the film's release in the United States earned it $ 5.4 million. Overall, the movie grossed a whopping $ 80 Million worldwide. The DVD version of the movie also earned an impressive $ 55 million in the United States alone.

Guillermo del Torro's work in the film has indeed given him a spot in the industry's line of history makers. He is now considered to be one of the most sought after directors for animated and fantasy productions in the film industry. Up to date, t he director announced his plans of venturing into the video game industry - something that fantasy and video game lovers should all watch out for.
