Question by Caprice: Can someone load a program in my computer and spy on my computer activities? I bought a used but good computer system. It has 500G harddisk with about 30G already used for his previous games programs, etc, which are already uninstalled. Could the previous owner have left some programs where he can spy on my computer activities? I am not sure how to reformat the harddisk. Even if I did, can the previous owner still spy on my computer? I might sound silly.... Best answer for Can someone load a program in my computer and spy on my computer activities?:

yes... very possible... that would be a kind of different way of getting it than moat people but that would be called spyware. run some antivirus and antispyware scans then take it to a local tech store that does PC checkups and get one done.

don't worry. previuos owner will not install any software to spy on you. it will cost him more than just meeting you if he/she likes you.. he/she will only spy on you if he/she shows interest on you but as i said. it is cheaper and wiser just to get to know you.. so relax..

get super anti spyware free from cnet.com, and find out, it even removes keyloggers, also get advanced system care free from cnet

It is very possible, though most of the time programs like that are either expensive or require a lot of knowledge about hacking. Reformatting your computer is a good way of making sure that there is nothing on it, as it would take some serious skill to fool a computer into not cleaning out everything on the drive. If you want to reformat you need to have copy of the operating system you're going to use. If you aren't sure what to do, I would suggest you contact a specialist (like GeekSquad or something). Or you could message me I suppose, and I could walk you through it

It is possible especially if he installed a key-logger i would reformat the HDD, just put in your manufacturers disc that contains the OS but don't forget to back up your data and yes it is possible for the malware to install itself automatically after formating.
