People who are using extensive graphics software or play the latest computer games need higher powered video cards as opposed to those who simply use their personal computers for email or searching the internet.

Removable DVD or CD drives are other computer components that can be used in newer computers. Some hard drives can even be removed from your old computer and inserted into your newer computer, if there is an additional slot that will accommodate the hard drive. Above all, the video card, obviously the most important thing about a gaming rig. You should aim at something ideally above a GTX 560 Ti / HD 6950. Since you plan on a heavy hardcore gaming build then I suppose it wouldn't be too hard to get something like a 2-Way/3-Way SLI GTX 580s or a Dual/Triple CrossFire HD 6970s configurations. The CPU, the second most important factor for a gaming setup. The best processor for gaming right now is the Intel i5-2500K, although if you don't mind the extra cost you could get the i7-2600K, but keep in mind that it will improve gaming performance for only 1% at most. The motherboard. You should get a motherboard that fits your needs, more specifically if it can support dual or triple video card setups, along with other features like USB 3.0, etc. Great high end options for a motherboard range around the Asus Maximus IV Extreme-Z or the ASRock Z68 Extreme7 Gen3, as well as a tad few more.
