Unfortunate things about this video: No soothing music by C418. Less grandiose displays of simple addition. The horrific slaughter of a defenseless animal. Fortunate things about this video: I'm almost done with the CPU parts! The finished Program Counter seems to be acting appropriately, but like I said, I'm worried about those shortcuts coming back to haunt me later (perhaps around the Halloween update?) In any case, as soon as I can hook up the logic necessary to interpret a Hack computer's opcodes, the CPU will be done, and I can start making stacks and stacks and stacks of RAM and perhaps figure out a better way to do I/O.

Your computer may not be that old; even if you bought it just a few years ago, you can still run in to problems when trying to play new video games. The technology changes quickly and the newer systems are loaded with more and more memory and higher end video cards to support the high graphic demands of the newer games created. If your system is running slower than it should or you are having trouble loading or playing the new video game you bought, try installing new memory or a higher graphic video card from stores like Crucial Technology or Newegg.com before you think about buying a new system.
How to Know If You Need More Memory
In most cases when you buy a new video game, the system requirements will be posted on the box. You should be able to tell if your computer will support it before you install it.
If you download or install the game, you might run across a screen during the installation that warns you of the low memory and the installation process will usually cease to complete if your computer does not match the requirements of the game.
In some instances, your game will download or install, and even if you have the minimum requirements for memory, it will be choppy, run very slowly or even lock up while playing. If you love the game and want to continue using it but cannot handle the slowness and the locking up, just add some more memory to your machine or even a better graphics card to help increase the speed of the game and make it more enjoyable.
Where to Find Memory
You can find memory sticks at any electronics store that carries computer components.
For the low cost, you are best to buy from a reputable dealer or someone you trust. You can find coupon codes and Internet offers to get the best price and a lot of companies will send you the memory with no extra shipping charges. If you are lucky enough to find a coupon code, you can enter it into the checkout screen and apply for your instant savings.

A program written to run in DOS has to run in DOS. It can't run in Windows, because it's not a Windows program. It has nothing to do with the computer. Windows is Windows, and you'll have that problem with any computer running Windows. (And a computer running a different operating system doesn't have DOS, so the game won't run either.) What's so terrible about running a cmd window?

If you have Windows XP, sometimes it will play DOS games, but, really Dosbox is the best way to go if you're using a new computer.
