Question by Tired of Outdated Programs: Is there a free web site whrere you can check your computer to find and download the latest software? I have found a few web sites where they will check my computer and tell me that I have outdated software - but I must then subscribe (pay) for them to automatically update my software. Where can I go to find out what updates are available and download these updates at no cost to me? Go to the microsoft website and you can find recent updates, with Windows presumably installed you should be able to run auto-update anyway. As far as specific software such as games, you would have to go to the relevant sites.

Sooner or later, every organization faces with necessity of creating computer inventory reports on hardware and software installed.
