With the many number of uses that the computer offers, everybody is considering having one in their home for private use, and just using the one that is availed at work. There are many factors any particular one would have to in a few days before making the choice over which computer is best suited for you. Everybody is wondering if they should go for the Mac or even the more common PC computers. Before you purchase between the two it will be best to examine actual features and not base your choice on rumors.

The PCs are said to be much better when it comes to the amount of customization that you could do to it so that the tasks that you don on the computer are much more personal. However, experts say that this feature might result in more problems, especially when it comes to the installation of key programs, or the updating of software. In the Mac computers, it is quite difficult to change the system settings as access to these features is quite limited. While some may say that you may not be able to adjust the setting s to reduce the use of power by the computer, most of the users of the PCs are rarely concerned about this, and many people usually adjust the settings without knowing what exactly they are doing. Thus, with the Mac computers, you are less likely to make serious mistakes.
Pricing is a key issue when it comes to such matters. The cheapest Mac computers have been found to be almost the same price as the PCs that are said to be top of the range, but looking at it from the view of the features; you would find the specifications of the Mac computers would turn out to be much better than in the PC. When it comes to the maintenance of the computers, it is much easier to repair your PC its wide usage ensures that there are many people who know how to deal with it and the parts are widely available. Finding spares for the Mac computers or even a repairman is quite difficult due to their limited usage.
Many like the Mac computers because they are less prone to virus attacks than the PC, and this could be attributed to the fact that most of those who come up with this malicious software are more knowledgeable in the PC.

mac is way more expensive..but it might be worth it..and is very reliable..if you have they money go with a mac;) pc is cheap and is a little less reliable than a mac..but i go with pc if money is an issue.. also when you pick a pc, research the brands since some are really crappy and some are really good ;) One nice thing is..if you have a mac you can buy a software that allows you to run a pc system on it as well;) so if have a mac you can also have windows XP ... ...pc's cant do that..if you have a pc it will be a pc, cant have a mac system on it

The top rated laptop is a MacBook Pro. Macs have better battery life, the highest resale value, the best tech support, almost all the software you need and are intuitive. Someone explain to me why you go to "start" on a PC to shut it down. The other main advantage, there are no MacOs X viruses released. That means you don't need anti-virus software which slows down your computer. Check the security section in Computers & Internet. Every day dozens of people ask what is the best "free" anti-virus software I can get for my PC. You won't need to be one of them. You can web browse and not worry about it. You can open your email, download files, and not worry about them.

If I were you I would DEFINITELY go Mac. Of course everyone has different needs. I don't use any games so have no need for Windows. PCs are good for gaming, Macs are awesome for everything else. I use the PC hardware platform, but I hate windows so I use an operating system called Ubuntu (http://www.ubuntu.com/). It runs on both the PC AND Mac platform. My opinion is that if you want to go all out on a Mac, do it, otherwise, save yourself some stress and get one of these: http://www.dell.com/content/topics/segtopic.aspx/linux_3x?c=us&cs=19&l=en&s=dhs IMHO they are almost as good as a Mac. Be warned to stay away from Windows unless you want to do serious gaming. With Windows you will constantly be threatened with viruses and other such nonsense, while Mac and Ubuntu remain VERY secure without ANY antivirus or antispyware software AT ALL. So as far as your last question goes: If you mean the Mac HARDWARE platform and the PC HARDWARE platform I think I might even be in favor of PC, however, if you mean the Mac operating system and the PC operating system (most commonly Windows) In my opinion Mac and Ubuntu are much better than Windows, even though it is more popular. After all, whatever is most popular is bound to have the most viruses which make it very annoying to use.
