Today, it is virtually impossible to find cathode-ray televisions in homes and in stores as LEDs, plasma, and LCDs. For many consumers and retailers, "the thinner, the better" is the general rule. The thinness of the panel is not its only selling point, though, and many would also consider the price of the television. These displays are not exactly the cheapest products on the market today, which is why many people search for a reliable price comparison guide that allows consumers to compare electronics prices. So, how can people find the best flat panel display on the market today?

Consider the price

Before bidding in an online auction or ordering one from a web-based electronics store, consumers should set a budget first. How much are they really willing to spend on this piece of equipment? Can they afford to shell out at least $ 400 to $ 2,000 for a new panel?

If the cost of the television is the prime consideration, then consumers can check out websites where they can compare TV prices. The cost of each is listed on that particular site, as well as the seller where they can purchase it. In this way, consumers can easily know which seller offers the cheapest gadgets and purchase from them.

Check the resolution

TV resolution is the second most important consideration when purchasing a television. Panels that have 1080p vertical resolution are classified as the best in picture quality. Consumers note that the details on the screen are clearer and finer on this resolution.

Consumers should prepare to shell out a large amount of cash, though, as these can get expensive than those with 720p versions. If price is a consideration, then consumers can do well with purchasing a 720p set that is relatively cheaper.

Choose the right screen size and check the right viewing distance

Wide may not always be good, especially in televisions where people sometimes equate quality with the size of the scree n. People should consider the space they have in their homes before they purchase this kind of TV and if they do have ample space. Yes, the screen maybe thin, but because of its width, the set may take up too much space.

Each resolution and screen size should also have the right viewing distance. LEDs that measure 42" should have a viewing distance of at least 7 feet and 63" models have a recommended viewing distance of 14 feet or more.

Check if it can also be used as a computer monitor

Most LED TVs right now have connectivity options that can be connected to a parallel port of a computer. Consumers can ask their sales people if the set can double as a computer monitor. This can save them a lot of money in the process.

These are just some of the basic things consumers need to consider before they purchase an LED set. They can rely on a website that provides an accurate price comparison guide to compare electronics prices. Consumers can compare TV pric es easily and get the best deals in the process.

I realize you get what you pay for but for Apple to become the computer giant that Microsoft is they will have to become cheaper. Its a little hard to justify spending 1800.00 bucks compared to 800.00 when shopping for a computer. Apple never will... not when they have their own dedicated supporters that will buy anything, and when Apple is the only one with rights to their systems... Microsoft systems are so cheap because of all the competition

You can get a Mac Mini for $ 599 (you'll need your own monitor). Don't let the small size fool you. It's one powerful computer. It replaced a big box at work and runs circles around it. http://store.apple.com/1-800-MY-APPLE/WebObjects/AppleStore.woa/wa/RSLID?mco=B3C47B0&nclm=Macmini

first off, microsoft does not make computers, they make software that computers run on, What you need to do is some computer brand comparison. You have your high end computers, apple, sony, toshiba, and then you low end computers, dell, eMachine, HP ect. Apple are expensive becuase they are high quality machines, you can get them for cheaper than 1800 anyway, apple sells to a different market niche than lets say dell who targets businesses.

Never. Apple has always made a better product and for them to participate in flooding th emarket with cheap copies of something which they have fought hard to keep would be stupid. I agree about the prices, but I started out on an Apple][ and and now that I have had PC's for a while, I think I will spend the money for another Apple the next time I go buy a computer. I can keep the old PC's for something like games.

That's the whole point Apple purposely doesn't want to make an affordable compute. Indeed, if you look at it, Apple doesn't sell compute. They sell "style". :)
