Dead pixels were once a big problem facing LCD manufacturers, but technologies have improved and the dead pixel issue is also pretty much dead. In fact, most of the top LCD manufacturers have no problem replacing a monitor with dead pixels as long as you point it out to them within your standard warranty period.

Solution: So when shopping for the best LCD computer monitors take a glance at the dead pixel policy found in the product warranty. Also check for dead pixels immediately after you install your LCD monitor. Display Resolution - If you stay with a high-definition monitor the display resolution should be a non event. It's really difficult (if not impossible) for most of us to tell the difference between the picture quality of a 1024 X 768 display or "native" resolution and a 1920 X 1080.
