When anyone starts a new hobby they may just do a little research about it first so that they know what it's all about but then they suddenly go against the grain. They start the hobby, become unsure about a particular part of the set up and then just guess what to do! Folks, you can't do that when you're starting a tropical freshwater fish aquarium.

Lack of research is bad enough, but doing initial research and then guessing what to do later on is surely even worse. Yet there are people that are doing just that. They think they know, so with a little guess work they carry on only to find out the guess didn't work properly or at all and now the 'orrible de-motivation sets in followed by anger followed rapidly by screams of failure mixed with several swear words.

Listen folks, it really doesn't take long. Always have your information standing by, be it a book, magazine or the internet.

Remember, you're probably a novice at the fish aquarium hobby so you won't know everything. As a novice you'll need to refer back to your original research (please don't tell me you're not going to do any) to check information when you're unsure about something and it only takes minutes because when you see what you're looking for your memory brings it all back anyway.

Please don't guess when you're in a muddle, it is so unnecessary as you're computer is probably in the other room and it really will only take a short time to get that information when you start a freshwater fish aquarium which in turn will mean that your hobby will continue for a lifetime.

So go on, get to it and don't guess if you're stuck.

If you guess then you're hobby finishes within a week, if you look over you're previous research it'll last a lifetime. More When You Start a Tropical Freshwater Fish Aquarium, Have the Computer Standing by Just in Case Issues
