market control dude. They have a nice product that they package beautifully and know how to advertise. it's that simple. I myself am a PC man as I like having control...but to each his own. To Apple's credit they have been trying to corner some of the PC market...but never the less...the price is what they can get for it--and they get it, so that's why they jack that price up. The same reason dogs licks himself--because they can.
