There is so much information available on the computer today, especially over the Internet, that employers, concerned parents and wary partners alike are all taking precautionary steps to have computers monitored for inappropriate use or content. Competition between computer monitoring program companies is tough, and deciding what is the best computer monitoring software out there can be confusing. The range seems endless, and so do the features and price tags, and can be a daunting task to choose one that suits your needs.
Computer monitoring software is often also called keylogger software or spyware, and can range from basic free programs that simply log keystrokes, to full on programs that can filter content, take screenshots, generate detailed reports and monitor usage on a fairly comprehensive level. So what is the best computer monitoring software around? If you take the time to read detailed reviews on the Internet, you'll find that Web Watcher, Spector P ro and SpyAgent are all big names in the monitoring software industry, and all are fairly reliable and thorough monitoring programs. Web Watcher is unique in that content can be monitored from a web browser, rather than from a specific computer, which makes it easy to use on a larger scale, for example in a large company or school. Spector Pro and SpyAgent are also very good, and offer comprehensive monitoring features that are relatively easy to use.
There are dozens of other monitoring programs out there that are less pricey and offer the basic keystroke logging capabilities, however, if you are looking for an all-inclusive package, then Web Watcher is definitely what is the best computer monitoring software available at the moment. If you are serious about monitoring computer usage, then it is certainly worth the investment. Keep in mind, however, that whilst PC monitoring software itself is legal, it is illegal to install it on a computer that does not belong to yo u, or that you are not an authorized administrator of.
Recommend Whats the Best Computer Monitoring Software? TopicsQuestion by : What are the best computers, and what should I look for? I understand a fairly decent amount about computers, but I want even the simplest things explained in detail, if possible? What can I do to update my processor speed? How many Ghz is required/recommended nowadays? How much RAM should I have for gaming and regular browsing? Should I buy Windows 7 or Vista, or buy a new computer with the software already loaded on it? What is THE best internet router, wireless or otherwise? Thanks for any input. Best answer for What are the best computers, and what should I look for?:

1) The processor speed is the maximum speed at which the processor is guaranteed to run. the motherboard sets the speed at which it actually runs. so you'll need a new motherboard and a new CPU. (And possibly new RAM if the new motherboard uses different RAM, or the old RAM isn't fact enough.) An i7 running as fast as you can afford is your most cost-effective purchase. 2) Gaming and browsing, alone, don't require much RAM - a few GB is probably enough. IF you're going to do one thing at a time. The more you do, the more RAM you need to do it in. At least 6-8GB today, with expansion to at least 16GB available. 3) New computers come with operating systems, and - luckily - you can't buy a current computer with Vista. However - many games still don't run on anything other than XP. 4) From a commercial viewpoint - reliability, bang for the buck, etc. - Linksys. You need at least 5mbps per computer on the LAN, so an old G router, running 54mbps, is good enough for 10 computers all gaming at once. (You can't get a faster connection that the one you get from your provider to the game server's provider, that's going to be the limiting factor and, unless you're pretty close to the game server, that won't exceed 1mbps today.
