The wide spread of internet makes the world become smaller and smaller which is called "globe village". Under this situation, more and more people have to do their work by using computers to keep up with the world. The use of computers is increasing day by day in all kinds of fields. When people get start to work in front of a computer and staring at the screen for long time, even up to seven hours, they may get irritation, drying up of eyes, headaches, blurring and burning sensation in the eyes. This is called computer vision syndrome. To delete the computer vision syndrome, people had better wear computer glasses that are designed to block UV rays and eliminate glare.
Â
The need for computers glasses is obviously to protect your eyes from getting hurt.
The computer screen will be located at a distance larger than reading distance but smaller than distant vision. When people use bifocal lenses to work with computer they need to look at the screen at a specific angle which creates neck problems. Those who wear contact lenses also have problems in viewing at all the points on the computer monitor. To provide a complete protection for your eyes, the computer glasses require a special feature. Optometrists now suggest separate computer test for the eyes to find out what is required for your computer glass. Computer glasses come with polarized lenses with sun blocking factor can meet the requirement.Â
Those who have syndrome not requiring correction glasses can turn help to optometrists who can give you a professional suggestion.
Wear glasses that magnifies the computer screen so that the strain on the eyes is greatly reduced. You cannot use the same reading glasses when you work in front of a computer. Even though you don't have to work in front of a computer for a long time, you still need a pair of computer glasses to fight against UV rays and computer radiation.Â
There are also prescription computer glasses available in market. As the role of prescription, they can give you a clear vision without any lines or distortions when staring at computers. And others, such as plastic lenses for weak prescription, index plastic lenses for strong prescription. Before buying a computer glasses, go to you optometrist to know exactly what your eyes need.

Almost every single automated instrument in the laboratory has it's own computer and each is interfaced with the LIS which is then interfaced with the hospital's HIS. Most hospitals have a computer that the physicians or nurses use to enter lab tests. Labels with barcodes print out. Samples are drawn matching patient's name, barcode on wristband and placed on tube. Each machine in lab reads the barcode and performs the specific test that is uploaded from the HIS to the instrument. Then results are downloaded and reviewed and released where they print out at the nursing station. Every aspect of this data is reviewed every day, and trended. QC specimens are monitored, graphed, trended etc. using the instrument computers and lab LIS systems. If you are looking for the names of some lab LIS systems here are a couple: Cerner, Shared Medical Systems, and Meditech. There are lots more - these are the ones I am intimately familiar with. Now if you want a list of laboratory instruments with indwelling computers as part of it's software the list will be a bit longer and not all inclusive cause there are way to many to name - a few brands: Coulter counters, Bayer Advia, Sysmex, Stago, Dade Dimensions, Abbott Olympuses, Clinitek,Criterion, Radiometer. For point of care analyzers also IRMA and shoot I forget the other one. These are only a few. There are many models many brands, many laboratory tests.
