nope.. do it in regular mode... they are good for you... when you erase files you essentially leave spaces on your hard drive, where the old files used to be... defragging simply puts your files in better order so they can be found more quickly and newer saved files can be added in a more orderly fashion... on windows vista or 7 i use the search box on the start menu... type in defrag and it lets you click on the disk defragmenter... i have it scheduled to run once a week... once a month may make more sense but...
