In tech support, we often use cars as an analogy to computers, because cars are an important tool that people generally understand. So why don't people understand computers equally as well? So your job/school basically requires that you use your computer each day. Your computer is your primary tool to get your work done. So people understand the basics when it comes to their car, but when it comes to computers â" which are just as essential to their jobs/schooling â" they have no idea. Why is this okay? Welcome to the life of tech support.

An IT Technician Job Description will vary slightly from company to company depending on the size of the organization but the basics will remain the same. An IT technician is responsible for installing and monitoring software on company computers, diagnosing and repairing faults, helping users who may be experiencing problems and helps to administer the network used by the company.
An IT technician will provide service to users of the network via email, telephone or on a face to face basis; good customer relations skills are important. The image of the uncommunicative computer geek is way off the mark, customer relations is a big part of the job. An IT Technician Job Description will also include troubleshooting problems on user computers, uninstalling software, password recovery, repairing computers and assembling and installing new machines.
The job of an IT technician is varied and there is always work to do, depending on how modern the network is and th e computers will determine where most of the IT technician's time is spent.
Job Opportunities
Today IT Technicians can be found in all size of companies. Every organization that uses computers, and that is everyone today will need the support of an IT technician. Small companies may call in outside help when they get into trouble but medium and large sized companies will usually have their own IT staff to deal with their day to day computer problems.
To start a career as an IT technician you will need some qualifications in IT. To begin with these can vary but a technical qualification that proves you understand and can repair and maintain computers will get you in at the entry level. More specific qualifications can usually be obtained from within the company which usually trains IT's staff for the equipment they use.
The big companies may want a degree in computing before they will consider employing an IT technician but this is not necessary for mo st companies. Training is usually on going. Obviously a good knowledge of computers is necessary to begin with, but specific job training usually takes place within the company.
This makes sense because each company has it's own unique network running software usually company specific. What companies want to see is evidence of technical computer skills, being able to strip and rebuild your own PC is not good enough, you need evidence that you have followed a proven study course.
As the world becomes more reliant on computers the IT Technician's Job Description may change but the basics will always remain and the need for them will continue to grow.

A Technical Certificate won't be enough to get you a job in a foreign country. You'll need a BS in Computer Science from a top level school to get started. You will also need to know fluent Korean. You will also need to obtain a work VISA to get a job in any foreign country and that isn't an easy task. Local governments don't like foreigners coming in and taking highly skilled jobs away from the locals.
