How To Get Ahead In Computer Technician Jobs [aboutcomputer99.blogspot.com]

Question by Windsurfrush: Computer Technician Jobs in Toronto, Canada? Hi, how easy is it finding work as a computer technician in Toronto, Canada? I am MCSA certified. I'm moving back to Canada after having lived most of my life in Greece, and I worry about my wife and I finding jobs. The global financial crisis doesn't help either. My wife will most likely look for an admin or reception job. She's from the UK. Please advise. Thanks Best answer for Computer Technician Jobs in Toronto, Canada?:

There are jobs to be found in Canada in all fields, but the economy is bad and there aren't that many to choose from. Take a look at some of the job search engines such as workopolis or monster to gage for yourself. I wish you and your wife luck though, hope you both find jobs!

Starting out on a new career path can often be daunting, but when you're going into a field which requires as much knowledge as computers, then this can be particularly scary, but here we will look at what you need to get computer technician jobs.

In terms of actually starting out as a computer technician, you can often look at one of two routes to actually get in to the business.  Firstly, if you have an established technician in your area already, then you may want to enquire as to whether they would be willing to take you on as an apprentice.  This would mean that you would get to learn on the job, and get plenty of firsthand experience, and if they are well-respected, then that can often lead to computer technician jobs.

The other option if you are looking for a way to get into computer technician jobs is to consider signing up to a course that would allow you to train in the work involved in being a computer technician.  This would give you a recognised qualification, and these schools and colleges will often be able to help you in actually finding computer technician jobs.

Once you find yourself working as a computer technician, then it is natural to want to do what you can to improve yourself and to learn more about the computers you can be dealing with.  If you are dealing with a specific brand of computers regularly, then you might want to consider taking a manufacturers' accreditation course, which can then lead on to more advanced computer technician jobs.

Another aspect you might want to consider looking at is moving in to a larger company where there are a lot of computers to be maintained.  This will certainly give you some good experience, and will probably expand your experience in dealing with computers connected to a server rather than the standalone units that most people will have at home.

If you are continuing to work in dealing with individual clients, and they are happy with your work, then you could also direct them on to an online review site, which will allow you to develop your reputation, and get those essential positive reviews that will make others come to you.

However you are looking to enter or develop you career in computer technician jobs, there is always a way to progress.
