More Desktop Computer On Sale #2 Issues

Question by angdejong: So I bought a used desktop computer at a garage sale. I hook it up and it seems it was hooked up to some? network and you have to press Control-Alt-Delete to Log In with a user name and password. Of course I don't have any of that or a network to log on to. Is there any way I can get this off my computer so that it just boots up and I don't have to do the Control-Alt-Delete? I can't even get past that logging in part so that I can boot up the operating system! Best answer for So I bought a used desktop computer at a garage sale. I hook it up and it seems it was hooked up to some?:

Answer by Justagirl
It's set to lock, it doesn't have anything to do with a network. The person before you probably had it set up that way so no one could use it. Call them and get the password. OR take it to a computer shop and have them remove it.

Ya gotta stop thinkin' ya ain't the boss. Computers don't do nuttin' unless they been told (or programmed or 'set') to. What ta do? Open the Startup folder, git rid of the buzzard, ya kin try 'Task Manager > Processes' and see the buzzard doing what ya don't want it to do. Also, ya kin try and see if the nitwit is in Control Panel > Uninstall Programs, highlight the crap and click 'Dispose of this here critter' on the top of the dialog window that has appeared. Ya kin mebba find the 'dude' in Windows Explorer, find the Folder, right-click it, get the 'Properties or get the location (path) of the 'crappy' crap, then go to that location and right-click > Delete. If that don't work either or yer too cornfused, learn some DOS (Disk Operating System) commands and do it in 5 seconds. How? Later. ;-)
