My pals in the IT department of my old firm used to use plastic crates on wheels... let me see if I can find an image for you and I'll put it here. They were always organized and I much preferred to hang out with them in their cool tech den than in the upper offices of the attorneys that I worked with. Okay, check these links out. They're not exactly what the guys had but they are somewhat close. They had the hopper bins but some were not solid plastic (they were open squares, in that crate-way like milk crates) and they had most of the bins on frames with wheels that they could move around if needed). It seemed like a good way to store a lot of that stuff -- cords get crazy and a lot of the peripherals needed to be kept together but also accessible (and not shut away someplace).
