Question by Chris Y: Computer Monitor? The cord that connects the computer monitor to the computer. Most of them are blue. At the end of the cable that connects to the computer, there are these pins/needles. 3 rows of 5 pins/needles. If a there is one pin/needle missing, could a pin/needle from a different monitor(different brand too) be put in place of it? Best answer for Computer Monitor?:

That is a VGA cable. These are pretty standard, so getting a replacement should not be a problem. Don't buy a really cheap one as they can cause all sorts of image problems, as a rule of thumb the thicker the cable the better. The pin is suposed to be missing.

Seems to me there is at least one pin on the VGA connector that isn't actually used (reserved for future use?) so if the monitor works I wouldn't worry about it. (I think at least one of the cables for a monitor I had seemed to be missing a pin and that was not a problem.)
