Computers and laptops have become a necessity for us just like other household electronics such as TVs, stereos and DVD players. When you purchase these electronics, you look at what benefits and features they can provide to you. So, if you are going to buy computer electronics, you need to be a little careful about some common mistakes mentioned below.

Don't wait for a better computer to come:

As the technology always keeps on improving, don't make it a reason for not buying a computer right now. People are hesitant on buying a computer because they think it will be outdated in next six months which is not true. If you are purchasing it right now at least you will get more use out of it.

Purchase it from a reputable dealer:

You should buy your computer from a reputable electronics dealer. This will ensure a better warranty and a better service. They will offer you high-quality machines and services.

Don't pay for extended warranty:

Most of the companies offer an extended warranty for a fee to make a great profit out of it. It rarely happens that your computer expires before the warranty period. So, it is not profitable to buy an extended warranty as most computers fail when the warranty expires. It is better to put that extra money towards items you will require for your computer such as mouse, scanner, printer, software, etc. instead of buying extra warranty.

Buying unbalanced system components:

Purchasing the latest and best processors but cutting back the memory is pointless for your computer. Your system will not run at its full capacity since the memory is insufficient.

Besides this, with a small amount of memory, you will not be able to store as much data. So, before purchasing a computer understand what is RAM and memory and how will they effect the working of your computer. Therefore, have proper knowledge before taking any decision.

Get the maximum out of your money:

There are many laptops and computers available in the market offering you wide range of options. Since the market is extremely competitive, you have the opportunity to find the right computer for the best value for your money.

There are many options available in market and you can decide to buy a computer accordingly based on your budget and requirement. By keeping all these points in mind, it would be quite easier for you to buy a computer at an affordable rate.

With the development of the computer, you saw a development of the Internet. This allowed companies to set up web pages where they could advertise and sell their products. People began to buy products online. They did not have to leave home. This created a new industry. It peaked in the mid to late 90's. Then we had the dot com bubble where many websites and companies went out of business. Still, the online business is going strong. People still can buy whatever they want online. That's just the economic factor and a small one. The computer has a huge impact on our lives.

Computers reduced the cost of performing routine transactions, especially financial ones. Also, the time required to perform transactions and communications was greatly reduced. Just like machinery automated physical work during the Industrial Revolution, computers automated "thought work" in the 90's. They also made production and distribution of creative works less expensive. Consider the popularity of desktop publishing and home recording. In the old days, big companies controlled the market, network, and means of production.

Despite the growth and obvious importance of the Internet and distributed computing systems, it is the mainframe computer that has provided the greatest economic benefit. Mainframes are able to store and process vast amounts of data extremely quickly, which is why every bank, insurance company and airline depends on their mainframe. Yes, even today! The major benefits of mainframe processing are twofold. Firstly, operations like accounting and stock control that once took hundreds of people to do manually can be performed much more effectively and pretty much in real-time. Secondly, mainframes can manage enormous databases which allow you to make much more effective use of your data (through techniques known as data mining, for example). Mainframe computers are alive and well, and running most core business functions quietly in the background whilst the new kids on the block (like the Internet) take all the plaudits.
