Question by : can I put a recovery cd from a Samsung computer on an Acer computer? I purchased the Samsung laptop because the Acer HDD got a virus, and I want to put the Samsung recovery CD on the Acer. Asides from some of the Acer features not working, will there be any other major conflicts?? The Samsung has Windows 7 Premium, and the Acer Vista Premium. I don't think so. First of all recovery disks usually restore you to a certain restore point on your computer. You definately wouldnt be able to do it if your samsung is say windows 7 and your disk is vista. I'm also pretty sure that when you make the disk it can read what computer your on or not. Although windows on one computer is the same on another (as long as it's the same type of windows) each computer is different. So to answer your question I'm almost positive that it won't work but you should ask an expert who would know more.

No can do. The Samnsung CD has drivers that are pertinent to Samsung and its hardware. And as for the OS, Windows 7, you would be in violation of the licensing agreement and either would not be able to activate it or would loose the functionality on your Samsung
