Courses can all differ from IT Applications, to IT Programming, to basic office classes IT Applications is the use of computers in a organization [networking etc] IT Programming is pretty straight forward IT can also teach office applications and some offer courses on how to build attending an info night on this course or obtaining a course outline would be in your interest i suggest.

Answer by LSDJ
yes you should learn the parts of the computer and how to put one together probably one the first day. then will most likely focus on basic programing concepts as well as networking and troubleshooting skills. word and powerpoint tend to be the business course

Well that's what I'm taking right now, and its not really like that, alteast not in my class, i just took it cuz it's required to graduate and i wanted to get it over with in 9th grade. But all we've really done is learn the parts of the computer, by definition that is, and learned to work word, excel, gmail (stuff that mostly everyone already knows how to use) but you do learn useful little tricks here and there, and crazy shortcut codes, like control s is to save , but MUCH longer to do the most random things...it's a pretty easy class, not the most exciting, but its ok. Goodluck and have fun!
