Its called entropy. Entropy is that nature tends from order to disorder in isolated systems. Over time files become disorderly and some clutter is accumulated. Try to defrag your hard drive and run disk cleanup. Also be sure you have a firewall, virus protection and spyware remover.

Assuming you are running an up-to-date anti-virus, a good firewall, and something to protect against other nasty stuff such as spybot-search-and-destroy, it may just be that you need to clean house. Try running diskcleanup. You will want to empty all the temporary Internet files, etc. Then run defrag. See if that helps. Also, you might try Advanced Windows Care, a free program (or, with more options, a pay-for). Assuming you haven't been infected with a virus, worm, or something else, this should help your performance. Best regards, Jim
