In the Oxfordshire area, we are still seeing jobs being lost as the recession bites deeper and margins are squeezed ever tighter but many believe that now is the time to invest in initiatives to help businesses secure their futures - and their employees prospects. Computing mobility and connectivity will play a key role in delivering sorely needed benefits.
Experts in the mobile computing arena have said "The difficult times we are all living through should encourage businesses to invest in a review of their own operations to identify areas of productivity improvement and flexibility". They add that "busy managers out on the road or particularly during their daily commute should be making the most of their time. There is no doubt that being able to connect to base or the internet while on the move can be a key factor in refining procedures and enhancing efficiency."
There are companies who are providing the equipment needed to make this a reality and adding the additional benefits of pre-installing key software (like virus checkers and office suites) and bundling the equipment with useful extras like cases, mobile printers, wireless mice and pensticks. Through the provision of these sort of "bundled solutions", these companies are going that step further to assist in productivity improvements and thus help to maximise company profits and secure peoples jobs.
Education is also key and we should not forget that our university students also need the right tools for the job. Research via the internet, the production of computer based project work and the need to communicate with educational establishments as well as colleagues is becoming increasingly important. The use of portable devices like laptops and netbooks for this are one of the few areas which are still in a growth market in 2009 - netbooks in particular appear to be the devices most sought after by the student fraternity for their price, portability and convenien ce.
Students and managers alike should seek out the best and most convenient bundled solutions to eliminate configuration worries and provide the opportunity to focus on the job at hand rather than the sourcing and setting up of hardware to do the job. It's vital that we let students and managers know that bundled solutions meeting their needs are available - pre-configured, tested and ready to use out of the box.
To this end, some students starting their studies in the next academic year will receive mailings with brochures outlining options which include essential software like an office suite and virus scanner as part of a stylish package. Look out for them if you want to save yourself time and hassle!

Here are (3) computer bundles I found at a local pawn shop and wanted to ask anyone who knows about computers if they are a deal or bs. These bundles all come with a mouse, keyboard, and flat screen monitors so just gonna give the specs: Bundle (1) $ 279.99- Compaq SR5710Y w/ Vista H.P.- AMD Athlon Dual Core 4450E (2 cpus) 2.3ghz, 3gb RAM, GeForce 6150 SE Nforce 430 Integrated RAMDAC video card w/ 1,336Mb Bundle (2)-$ 399.99- Dell Inspiron 518 w/ Windows 7- 4gb RAM, Intel Pentium Duel cpu E2200 @ 2.20ghz, and a 2gb ATI Radeon HD 3400 Internal DAC video card. Bundle (3)- $ 449.99- Custome Built Gamer's PC w/ Windows XP- M3A78-CM Motherboard (ASUS), AMD Athlon 64 x2 Dual Core processor 5600+MMX 3D now (2 CPUs), 3,328Mb of RAM, Corsair Tx650 Watt power supply, Nvidia Geforce GTX260 Integrated RAMDAC (said BFG Tech on the video card) w/ 896Mb, a really nice wireless mouse, and a ZBoard Keyboard. The 3rd bundle, which definately seemed like best out of all 3 considering was custom built and had a huge case with what looked like could hold 3 HDD's, 3 fans w/ one attached to the custome see through case and was LED Blue, is what I'm most interested in since I mainly want it to play games. Specifically a game called "RIFT" coming out and seems good for it. Can check out the game's specs here: http://www.riftgame.com/en/game/faq.php. I know I'm asking a lot but all I really want is for anyone who know's good pricing on computer hardware to let me know if any of these are worth their price especially the 3rd one. I believe I can get the price down on it since it's been there for awhile. At least $ 400. Thank you for reading all of this and helping out. Really appreciate it. Take care. TYVM for the site. Never new it existed. All I need to know now is what price is right for the 3rd computer bundle. Thanks again. the 1st and the 2nd bundle don't fulfill the system requirements for RIFT but the 3rd bundle does. the 3rd bundle is even better than the recommended requirements http://www.game-debate.com/games/index.php?g_id=668&game=Rift:%20Planes%20of%20Telara added concerning the price of the 3rd bundle i would say those $ 450 are right if it also contains a hard drive, a CD/DVD burner and as you mentioned a flat screen monitor. if you can get down the price it's even better.

Don't get the first 2 bundles. If the 3rd computer comes with the keyboard, mouse, monitor, and is fully assembled, then I could see a store asking that price, if it is unused... but I think it is still a bit too much. However, The hardware isn't the newest generation. Stores like newegg.com no longer carry that motherboard because it has been replace by newer models. The Athlon 64 x2 cpu has been since replace by a few series/generations of CPU's. (The Athlon 64 x2 was replace by the Athlon x2 and the Phenom processors, then the Athlon II and the Phenom II). Microsoft stopped selling Windows XP to system builders and computer manufacturers 2 years ago (they stopped selling retail versions even earlier). Also, if it is the 32-bit version of Windows, you probably won't be able to install more ram. Due to technical limitation of the 32-bit version of Windows, you will typically only see a maximum of 3 to 3.5 GB of RAM in WIndows, even if you have more. (The exact amount will vary slightly, due to system conf igurations). It sounds like the 3rd system was built from quality components by sticking to name brands (eg: Asus, BFG, Corsair, etc), but the components are fairly old by today's standards.... so if you played RIFT, a game that hasn't been released yet, you will probably be pushing the system to its limits. It will probably meet your needs, for now, but would suggest talking the price down if you decide to get it.
