definatly a distraction im in class now and im suppose to be working on an assignment, but instead im anwering questions on yahoo answers!

Without proper curriculum and classroom management by the instructor, they are a distraction, serving more as babysitter than teaching tool. Hence all of the kids on Y!A and attempting to break network security at the schools and access Facebook, MySpace, etc.

I believe its a bonus i grew up with computers in my kindergarden class which is how i learned to type and how to spell it has built my vocabulary beyond that of a kid my age I am 18 years old and I have the vocabualry sense of someone ins college. I also have a learning disability and computers have helped me soo much in school to catch up with the other students in my grade

Im goin with distraction. Not to mention they are making children lazy - ask them to write a paper and not use a compu ter. They dont know how to do book research, or even how to spell because there is spell check. i think they have the potential to be helpful, but they are being abused instead.

Modern children are also very computer savvy and they pick up things much faster than adults. They should also remember to clear the browser history before they log out, so that even accidentally their kids might not be able to view content that is unsuitable for their eyes and mind.

One way of avoiding this problem completely is to buy a separate children's computer for your kid or kids so that they can learn, have fun and at the same time not have access to any unsavory websites while browsing the internet.
