The advent of Botnets and the sometimes nausea-inducing spam that floods your computer has given rise to a new breed of entrepreneurs, 'spam slayers'. And if you have recently noticed a sharp drop in the amount of pharmaceutical related spam that hits ... Wham, bang, no thank you Spam

The Advent Vega is a 10-inch PC tablet and comes with the Android 2.2 operating system. It delivers a powerful processor, deals with high-definition videos and is compatible with the Adobe Flash plug-in so you have access to the "total" web. But, the real story is a very substantial specification for the Advent Vega tablet pc at a low-cost price point that will put pressure on all possible future slate PC price levels and makes high powered slates much more economical.

The Advent Vega tablet computer specifications include a 10-inch capacitive multitouch display (screen resolution of 1024 by 600 pixels), HDMI output, Android 2.2 operating system, Battery life of 6.5 hours of uninterrupted video playback, 1GHZ NVIDIA Tegra 2 processor with 512MB RAM and 512MB ROM, 1.3 megapixel webcam, WiFi, 3G SIM slot, Bluetooth, microSD slot, USB port, 3.5mm headphone jack port and DC-in jack port.

What does this mean? It means you have a highly responsive touch sensitive tablet screen that will show your HD videos which you can also output to your TV with the right connecting cables. It has a highly usable operating system with plenty of applications and a processor that's very capable of dealing with them. The webcam will let you video conference and the connectivity options will allow you to get online. Finally the available ports allow you to add more memory and load files onto the device easily.

If the hardware specifications live up to what the Advent Vega is capable of, it will bring a very high powered slate PC and a very budget friendly cost. Other Android PC tablets have comparable specifications but are a great deal more highly-priced. The critical factor will be in the execution and how the software acts with the hardware.

What do we do 90% of the time on computer?...we read

Answer by battgirl
No. I read a little bit more than before. Computers has its own magic on books as well. I am informed of new releases, on books similar to what I read, controversial books and even online copies of classic stories. The web is an amazing tool if you know what you want and how to get it =)

Answer by kahlan nynaeve
not for me. i have always been a bookworm and i prefer reading actual books than online ones... for someone too who has a penchant for collecting books, having an actual, favorite book lined up in the shelf is one fulfilling feeling. just seeing my entire collection of books is sometimes enough to relieve my stress...

I go with the majority on this one, Lady Annabelle. We read more now because of computers. And my eyes are more tired becuz of it, too. But, Yes, I'm rather nostalgic about paperbacks.

Answer by Bopols
Very true. Students now hardly go to libraries to read and research because computers make research easier. Office workers also do most of their research now via the net. Technically, we "read" when we are in front of the computer, but I suspect that the questioner meant "reading a book or a manuscript" when she said reading. If we go by that, yes, people now generally read less. That is why the Print Media groups even run advertising campaigns urging people to read. Even the bookstores are reporting decreases in sales. The decrease in reading is not just attributable to computers. There are just so many things people are preoccupied with, diminishing both the opportunity and the INTEREST in reading.

we do read but our patience for information gathering has dwindled. we want everything fast and instant. if you look at other questions here, people can actually just type it in google and look for the info they want but instead of doing that they ask in yahoo answers so that others would be the one to search for them and they just compile the answers given to their question.

i have my reading online, i can even get books that i can't afford to buy and even could have books that is not available on our local bookstores. Whatever kind of book you want it's here, from Magazines, Atlas to short stories. Name it! It's even better than National bookstore or any other bookstore in the Whole Wide the World. Battgirl is right the World Wide Web is an amazing tool, you just have to know how to use it. Another good thing is... you don't have to go over the counter.

Answer by ANTON D
not at all ,but buying new books maybe. As far as reading goes,we read more.

Answer by jargon blue
on my end, nope! i don't get the same thrill and my mind is more stimulated when i'm reading. plus i find the author's mind amazing to be able to pull all those plots and twists in a story and make the reader want to read more and to react on what he has read.

Answer by Romerico G
