If you're like me, then you may have considered at one time or another, to build your own computer. This can be a complex project, but is also quite fun. But, there are more reasons why you would want to build your own PC.

1. Very Low Cost

You'll pay far below the average retail price when building your computer yourself. I'm speaking of savings of over $ 1000 or more! Most of the complete systems out there are overpriced. And, don't even envision having anybody else customize a PC for you. You need to be careful that you don't get ripped off doing that. If you build your own computer, you will enjoy saving huge amounts of money.

2. Building Computers is a Highly In Demand Skill

Since you'll find a computer in almost every household in The United States, having the ability to construct computer systems is a very much in demand skill. Not only can you build one for your self, but you can even build desktops for others and make extra money while doing it.

3. You Know Exactly What You've Got

Another reason to build your own computer, is knowing exactly what is in your computer. Many large companies will try to lower costs by putting low-cost, and sometimes inferior, parts in their systems. If you purchase a computer from a store, you are stuck with the warranty on the whole system. This means that, you can"t replace individual parts if needed. Plus, if you even so much as open the case, your warranty becomes null and avoid. When you build your own computer, each part comes with it's own warranty, and you can change parts in and out as you please.

5. Assembling Your Own PC Can Be Fun

It may not seem like it at first, but it can actually be fun to build your own computer. The joy and feeling of accomplishment that comes with taking on such a demanding task is a feeling that can't be replaced by anything else.

That site is excellent, but the McAfee PAID product should not be beat by a free product(combofix). Actully, I use MSE, because it is free. I have not used Mcafee for over 10 years and Norton, too. I have the Microsoft stand alone sweeper on a couple of flash drives waiting to be used, when needed. First of all, McAfee sucks. Norton and McAfee are the worst anti-viruses ever. You Windows users... Can never think outside your Microsoft box. You cannot safely, effectively and completely remove a virus infection in a Windows environment. FOR NOW: Here is the best way to remove a virus: What you should do if you know or suspect that your Windows computer was infected by a virus, worm, trojan or other malware: Go to a different, healthy, non-infected PC or laptop and download both the BitDefender and the Kaspersky Anti-virus Recovery CD's (free downloads). Download links for both: http://download.bitdefender.com/rescue_cd/ http://support.kaspersky.com/viruses/rescuedisk Burn both downloaded iso files to CD with an iso burner software. If you do not have an iso burning software installed, I recommend getting the CDBurnerXP (free software) from here: http://cdburnerxp.se/ Once you burned the recovery CD's, return to the infected computer and put the BitDefender Anti-virus Recovery CD in your CD/DVD drive and boot from CD (set your boot up options in BIOS to CD boot as first option if it does not boot from CD at first) Once your infected computer boots into the Recovery CD Linux environment, first update the virus definition database from the Internet server, than perform a complete scan of your desktop computer or laptop (all hard drives and/or partitions). Remove (delete) any infections found, and shut down your desktop computer or laptop. Remove the BitDefender Anti-virus Recovery CD and insert the Kaspersky Anti-virus Recovery CD. Repeat the same procedure as for BitDefender above. After scanning with those 2 Anti-virus Recovery CD's, your system should be virus free, and will function properly again. FOR THE FUTURE: BEST SECURITY MEASURES FOR A WINDOWS operating system computer or laptop: Never use any Internet Security Suite, just install separate, different programs for protection, from the ones listed bellow: Do not use McAfee or Norton antivirus, they both suck. Also anything made by Microsoft sucks. The best pay antivirus programs are BitDefender or ESET Nod32. The best free antivirus programs are Avast and Avira AntiVir. Install 2 antivirus programs, one to run at all times as live, active protection scanner, and another just for on demand scans when you have doubts about any file. Also install MalwareBytes, at least the free version. You will also need a good firewall to protect your system from attacks. First test your firewall with this little leak test utility: http://www.grc.com/lt/leaktest.htm You will see that it will penetrate your Microsoft Windows firewall. It is common knowledge that the Microsoft Windows firewall sucks. Install Zone Alarm or Comodo Firewall (both are free). Zone Alarm is the best firewall ever. Rerun the firewall leak test and you will see that it cannot not penetrate Zone Alarm or Comodo, you will get a prompt asking if you allow communication or not, just choose NOT. Install CCleaner to clean your temporary files, cookies and temporary internet files. It will also allow you to remove programs from your startup list (speeds up your system) and any unused registry keys and other unwanted stuff. Just be carefull how you use it not to cripple your Windows operating system. http://www.piriform.com/ccleaner/download/standard For your web browser, use either Firefox Mozilla, Opera or Google Chrome. http://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/new/ http://www.opera.com/browser/download/ http://www.google.com/chrome DO NOT USE INTERNET EXPLORER (IE), as it is the worst browser, and it can be easily attacked and infected. As an added security measure, also install the WOT (Web of Trust) tool to all your browsers. Removing all trace of malware isn't always straightforward. Many paid for removal products will prevent the infection from running but what they often don't do is remove all trace, clean registry entries and fix system errors. If you know what you're doing you can remove any infection manually with UVK. The focus is on manual removal and you can also create your own custom scripts based on scan logs. antivirus 20XX = malware, not a virus. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Computer_virus McAfee = antivirus (so it removes viruses) combofix should not be used unless an expert tells you to use it & your no expert, plus your need an expert to read the log.

I have no idea, but just got rid of the Windows Vista Security 2012 virus because I have a Windows Vista Business computer. Anyways, McAfee sucks and Norton expired on me last year. I still have a warranty on here until Dec. of this year. So, I upgrade and went with Microsoft Security Essentials, AVG2012,Super Anti-spyware Free Edition, and Spy-bot search...Everything seems to be going good and updated, but to be on the safe side, every week I run a scan on everything because I can't afford to get a major virus on here.
