Go to majorgeeks.com and get some antispyware programs and antimalware programs. Most are free, some cost money. Get registry mechanic, super anti spyware and spyware doctor and you should be fine. They recommend stuff too. Look at the site, theres tons of programs to choose from.

no need for pro. you can use "advance system care" free edition, just type it in Google. it has a cleaner and anti spy ware capability. and very easy to use, just one click your system is protected. you can also try AVAST anti virus. its free.

A pro works on a lot of PCs, while one person may work on one or two. The difference is also that the tech fixes broken or otherwise messed up PCs whilst the end user may only fix their PC once in a while. Because of this vast difference in expertise, the technician also sees all the things you did wrong, and to be honest, most problems are called 'operator error'. Just imagine trying to fix a PC after 20 or so drunken teenage boys had a go at it. I'd be amazed if it would even start. That scenario isn't far fetched either. I used that because it was my last PC horror repair LOL

As you can well imagine, users skill with computers cover the entire spectrum. That goes for those asking for advice; and those giving it. Unfortunately, using Windows requires you become a security EXPERT. It's that simple. A very convenient omission in the ads...but if average (non-expert) buyer knew just how badly 'broken' Windows is (especially Internet Explorer) they would buy nothing at all, or a Mac. And most folks don't have the time or inclination to learn the vast array of defense, counter measures, configurations and keep up with current new threats, in order to deal effectively with it all. "Pro" techs very often rely on the exact same freeware tools (and some high end ones also) anyone can get: they usually just know how to analyze the problem better, and since they see many more manifestations, can do it quicker. (That talent pool covers the entire spectrum also). What they won't do is configure your defenses and TEACH you how to avoid problems in the future: it's called "job security".
