Here is the board for now, they are going to launch the new Genesi i.MX53 based Laptops and Desktops around July or August, to provide more performance, using lower power and at lower cost. The current Genesi Efika MX i.MX51 based laptop is selling for 9, the Genesi i.MX51 Desktop is 9, they plan for the next generation i.MX53 based Laptop and Desktop to be sold for even cheaper. They are also working to combine their ARM based Laptop with the Pixel Qi screen as soon as it's mass produced.

The decision to buy a computer is easy to make if there is really the need for it. Many models with the latest features are out in the market and all these promise the best PC experience. With enough information, it's not difficult to find one that suits its purpose.

However, there are two types of PCs: laptops and desktops. Making a choice between the two can take time if one is not privy to the unique characteristics of each. The advertising that it gets can just blur the facts necessary for settling with decision. These tend to focus more on how it appears as if it is a fashion item.

Of course, its appearance has a bearing on one's preference but it is certainly not the main feature of a PC. If aesthetics are the basis, then laptops will certainly be the hands-down choice. Most models are sleek-looking and lightweight. Some even have colors that could match designer clothes.

Desktops, on the other hand, do not need to appear fashionable. What is im portant for these is power and durability. Lately, however, CPU casings have been made slimmer and monitors are using the LCD, which laptops use for display. The enhancements have made it look better on any table and lessen the space required in a house.

An obvious advantage that laptops have over desktops is its portability. This is one reason why laptops are the choice of many people whose jobs require them to be on the go always. Currently, laptops have even been made smaller and lighter that students who want to make life in the classroom more convenient it.

However, its advantage can be its own undoing if a laptop owner is not careful. Unlike a desktop PC, it can be easily stolen, along with the valuable data in it, and sold again in the black market. There have been security improvements such as thumbprint and voice recognition but these can still be hacked with a little effort.

With its weight and the peripherals attached to it, a desktop is certainl y not designed for mobility. However, for power users it is the most recommended. In terms of graphics and audio, it has better capabilities. For graphic designers and gamers, this is the obvious choice. Jobs that require PCs to run for long hours definitely prefer desktops too.

Therefore, the best way of deciding which to have is to consider its particular usage. If mobility is not required, one may just settle with the less expensive desktop. However, if one needs to use his PC often even when he is away from home or the office, then a laptop is recommended.

If you know both tell me but separate them.
