Some people have been unemployed now in the United States for over one year. The prospects of finding a job are bleak! This is leading people to their computer to find jobs or work at home jobs. An important question you need to ask yourself is whether you have the right mindset to work from home on the computer or not?

Creating an Internet income on your computer requires you to view things differently than you may have in your previous job. Here are a few points I want to get across.

1. You are your own boss and you do not have anyone telling you when to work. For some people this is a problem because they do not have the discipline to sit down and go to work.

It's also very easy to get distracted when you stay at home and work. Many moms have had problems with this over the years as they try to raise their kids and make money.

If you are the type of person who can set a schedule to work and stick to it you have a much better chance of making money working from home.

2. Do you have basic computer skills? Some people can barely send email and this could be a problem if you are trying to work from home on your computer.

This is not to say you can not learn how to use your computer because most people can. However you need to recognize your limitations and work at overcoming those as soon as possible.

Today there are many ways to make money online that don't require a lot of skills. Even building a website is not hard to do if you can type.

3. Are you willing to learn Internet marketing skills and apply those? This is more for people who are looking at work from home opportunities that require products to be sold.

Even if you're going to provide a service business you are going to have to sell that online. This means learning how to market a website and get it online for people to find you.

If you purchase advertising you certainly can market your products much quicker. However ma ny people who are out of a job right now do not have a lot of money to invest in advertising.

This means you need to work at getting backlinks and doing such things as article marketing, social media, and blogging. You may not see immediate results and this can cause a problem for some people who do not have the right mindset to work from home on their computer.
