I would think textbooks would probably be replaced by some type of eReader...battery life is much longer, text is easier to read, and they are cheaper.

Yes, I'm thinking WiFi enabled tablets will likely replace textbooks. I think the main issues to overcome are cost of the hardware (including replacement of lost/damaged devices), ensuring all students had appropriate network access and publishers figuring out how much to charge schools for electronic versions of books. There are too many pros of switching from textbooks to eBooks. It's now a question of ensuring all students have the technology infrasturcture to take advantage.
