I have a 'wired desktop' and a 'wireless laptop' using the same router. I installed the router and wiring to the pc and then turned on my laptop, it automatically picked up the router. Maybe you need to ask your laptop to find a wireledd connection and then make sure it is your router it is tuned into. If you have a cd for the router try running it on both pc and laptop.

Is the router a wireless router? If yes. then plug the tower in to ine of the ports and use the wireless wizard on the lap top to find the router (To make it eayser change the name of the router) If no then plug the lap top in to the back aswell
