Question by : what is the best computer for running heavy games smoothly? well im looking for a desktop computer that has good graphics, can run really powerful games like World of Warcraft, DDO, Perfect World, Runes of Magic and other games at high graphics but still really smooth and lagless. and has lots of space for the games and other programs. but i dont want just a pure gaming computer like alienware i want it to be able to do tasks other computers can do too. well the best i have found right now is a imac, any suggestions? Best answer a home built one. also macs cant game for shit they usually run much slower then their pc counterpart.

get a core 2 duo,2gb ram,radeon 4870,4850 or 5750 and windows 7(beleive it or not,games work smoother).u may get all these for under 40k.imacs are bullshit with hardly any library for games and are super slow and damn high costs...my sister has one.alienware 2 are bullshit overpriced cpus.

Although iMacs aren't the best for gaming, don't listen to the people who say Macs are useless. They have their advantages. I probably wouldn't consider them gaming machines, but Macs can do gaming if that's what you like. iMac 21.5" high-end is probably the best desktop. If you like bigger screens, in my opinion, the 27" would be a better option. Although desktops aren't that good, I think that the MacBook Pro 15.4" is possibly the best gaming laptop in general. As for gaming on PCs, Alienware M11x is a very good gaming laptop and at only 11" is extremely portable only $ 800. Very good for gaming with a massive 1 GB of dedicated video RAM, but a slow processor. It is also probably the only PC that compares to the "sexiness" of a Mac. As for desktops, you can easily buy a cheapo desktop and put a good video card in it.
