If your not worried about saving data then you should be able to put in your setup CD and when your machine boots up and goes through the installation you can change the drive format but you WILL lose ALL DATA. When changing from FAT32 to NTFS the hard drive is swipped. If you want to clean the HD first you can re-boot in DOS mode and type in FDISK and this will completely re-format the HD with no OS or DOS. You then need the CD to install Windows all over again.

Reformatting is simple, you just need a boot disk, which you can get here: http://www.allbootdisks.com/ Use that to boot with, and then run the format command. If you wish to re-install 2K, you can boot from the CD, and reformat the partition as NTFS when it asks. It will then format the drive, removing the old installation, then install 2K on the newly reformatted drive.

NOTE: You will loose everything on the hard drive, make sure you have anything you want to keep on a CD/DVD/Tape/separate physical hard drive. If you have a Windows 2000 install CD it should be bootable, it will give you the option to reformat the drive as NTFS during the install. If it is a brand name computer it may have come with a restore cd('s) or partition in which case you are kind of stuck as to what the manufacture has preset the image to be, there are utilities which can convert the drive but since it will contain your OS it may be difficult

HI,.DickychanL,.: -if your talking about a legal copy, you can because you need the original p.n. number on the product box. to gain access,. -if it's an installed copy or download,you may have to reformat your entire computer hard drive, just make a back up disk of all your current programs,. good luck,..,.bye..,
