It's Easy To Learn About Computers [aboutcomputer99.blogspot.com]

Question by shimmeth: Assembling computers for dummies.? No, really. I don't want to pay a thousand bucks for a piece of crap, and I want something to meet my specifications, but I don't really know much about computers. I've been looking through 'build your own pc' sites and 'bare bones' computers and such, but I still just don't know what to get. Or how to build one for that matter, c'mon, I know how to use them alright but building one? Geez. The missing link is, I just want to be able to describe what kind of pc I'm looking for, and get the best bang for my buck. I just don't know enough about it, and I don't want to waste money on something that's not going to work for me. I'm looking for a desktop. I want it to be fast, able to multitask to an extreme extent, it needs a considerable amount of memory and be able to run some decent programs (like games or paint shop etc.) I want it to be upgradeable and able to run the most updated virus and spyware software and all that jazz. I'd like opinions on which operating system is better, as Windows is...well, windows but there's also the Mac. Difference? Pros, cons? Oh please, help a lost chick out. Best answer for Assembling computers for dummies.?:

I would buy a PC Case first. Aluminum and removable motherboard tray are features I would look for. I would also want the power supply located on top not bottom. Here are some examples. A mid tower chassis is a good size, http://www.coolermaster.com/products/product.php?act=category&tbcate=168
