A blue screen is something typical Windows, though I haven't seen one recently using Windows 7. I think you should consider re-installing Windows, and make sure you have the latest version (Windows 7 for you). Another, free, solution would be installing Ubuntu, but this requires some skills. It is different than Windows, you need to get used to it. But! There are no viruses for Linux/Ubuntu, so the chances are nihil that similar things will happen to you again. EDIT: Perhaps you should also let an experienced computer guy check the computer itself, because there could be something wrong with your RAM memory.

Have you tried to .. Restore your system .. To install a new OS is kind of like getting a new leg so you can walk better .. It don't work if you got two legs already .. Now you got three legs to worry about .. Do a scan disk for errors .. Get Comodor it is a prim free one and it has a good firewall included along with a prim Virus protection program .

Sounds like you have bad RAM or hardware failure. If your screen is flickering as you say it is, it sounds like an electrical problem. Take it out to the range and fill it full of lead... after backing up all of your data.

I have two computers here on my work bench right now with similar problems. I am having to do some thinking. In reference to your computer I guess the first thing I would do is to pull out one memory chip at a time and see if there was a bad memory chip or maybe not making a good connection. The flickering screen sounds like that might be the cause. You also may have more than one problem. If the problem is with the computer components installing a new operating system wont solve the problem. It might be a good idea to have a qualified computer technician check it out before you spend money for a operating system.
